Really happy to have participated in the first ever international #Minute_Mapp competition with @mapp_tokyo. They gave the template and artists from around the world created a minute’s worth of content to be mapped to this mannequin. Having video mapped professionally in the past, the most exciting thing for me about the project was getting to create my own content just for me. I challenged myself to bring the afterlife to life using different mediums ranging from watercolor to digital animation to even crayon.
I found the project as a whole super interesting, because I got to be part of an art collective. Watching everyone’s work and talking with the other artists was fascinating. I liked getting to see how the genre is defining itself even if it seems the standard is glitch tracks and a focus on visual effects over storytelling. That only further inspires me to bring more storytelling into the art form, so not only did I get to work on my craft, but now I found some more purpose through it!
Already looking forward to the next one!
